HOSPITABLE // In less than two years Director Filipe Dantas has created an Eco-friendly sightseeing experience in Tukxi Madeira. Tukxi Madeira has recently renewed their website; tours are now showcased online and the various trips are depictured as interactive maps with photos and concise descriptions.

Company service includes hotel pick-up and drop off in Funchal and a knowledgeable guide. If lucky, Valèrio de Freitas might be your guide for the day.

“Val was a true asset to the overall experience. His captivatingly delightful English accent embraced me as a narrative journey through the cultural history of Funchal, while the charming retro design of the Ape Calessino moved us safely through time”

AUTHENTIC // Although the three wheeled Ape Calessino is an Italian design, it blends perfectly into the Portuguese small town life as a charmingly urban and not least eco-friendly means of transportation.

The innovative electric vehicle is Piaggio’s idea of a modern day sustainable car, and a ride with the quirky unikum is, despite its size, actually conveniently comfortable; as good as noise free and with perfect mobility it makes a great option for soaking up the bubbly atmosphere in the heart of Madeira.

MEMORABLE // On top of a charming vehicle design and the convenient mobility and service, the company knows a few authentic places and characters that makes a trip with them a truly memorable experience. A visit to the Universal store turned out to be one of those unexpected little heartily adventures.

“Val took me to a local store dressed optimistically in various touristic artefacts. Luckily it wasn’t all the stuff on the shelves, but the basement Val had in mind for me. The mysterious elderly gentleman and owner of the Universal store lead me down a flight of stairs to what turned out to be a grand gem; here João de Sousa kept his true passion concealed. Like a little sweet piece of honing cake I felt like I had taken a precious bite of authenticity. The aphrodisiac drops of Madeira wine and other interesting liquors stood so tall they made me slightly dizzy, while Mr. Sousa passionately allowed me to have a taste of some of the most alluring secrets of Madeira. No pressure, no expectations or judgement -just the beautiful company of true hospitality and the encounter with a genuine soul that will live for at least another 800 years.”

IMMERSIVE // Highly qualified management, a team of engaging staff members and a sustainable transportation design for city tours makes a good basis for a modern service company in the experience economy. Knowing that everything is certified and professional will give any visitor the ability to relax during the ride, and direct all senses towards soaking up charming Madeira instead.

“With every turn and around every corner down the narrow cobblestone streets of Funchal, Madeira bragged politely about its intoxicating freshness; the sight of the green lush mountains, the flirting scent of fresh brewed espresso and the way exotic fruit seemed to stare back at me in their coats of bright colors while introducing themselves in quirky names, never heard off before.”
